We are seeking to recruit for the role of Learning Support Assistant to work at Sherard Primary School. This role will be permanent working 2 days per week (13 hours), term time only plus the 5 INSET days (39 weeks).
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant for our specialist provision school who are passionate about supporting children.
We are looking for a reflective and skilled Learning Support Assistant who can motivate and encourage children as required and support children with special educational needs throughout the school.
You will be required to provide support for teaching and learning and associated activities in our specialist provision under the direct supervision of the teacher. This may include providing general support for whole class learning activities, or supporting individuals or small groups of pupils.
Experience of working with children with SEN and knowledge of Child Protection and Health and Safety policies are essential.
You will have an NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent. Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English is essential, or currently working towards. Along with good interpersonal skills, you will be emphatic with children and young people, and be able to work effectively as part of a small team.
About the Mowbray Education Trust
The Mowbray Education Trust (MET) is a multi-academy trust currently educating around 2,500 children from the age of 2 to 16 in the town of Melton Mowbray and surrounding villages in the Borough of Melton. The MET currently has one secondary school, five primary schools and one pre-school; with potential numerical and geographical growth in the future.
Melton Mowbray is a rural market town in Leicestershire which is easily commutable from Grantham, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Oakham.
The MET has a central support services team, with staff managing Estates, Finance, HR, IT and Operations, across our schools. The central team are based at offices within John Ferneley College in Melton Mowbray.
The remuneration package includes a competitive salary, contributory public-sector pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement:
- Salary £9.54 - £9.74 per hour – £5,514.76 - £5,625.19 per annum
- Local Government Pension Scheme membership
- 5.44 weeks paid holiday entitlement rising to 6.44 weeks after 5 years’ continuous service.
