The Role

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic MFL Teacher with a Spanish specialism. Queen Katharine Academy is extremely proud of its successful Language Department; the Academy holds the full International Schools Award and has a wide range of partner schools across Europe and beyond. The Academy links with a range of organisations to host and provide CPD for Language teachers and extra-curricular projects for students. International learning and the importance of Languages is at the forefront of the Academy’s ethos, students achieve well at both GCSE and A-Level and uptake is increasing year-on-year. In recent years, QKA students have gained national acclaim in the Foreign Language Translation Bee as well as the Vocab Express Global Challenge for Spanish, furthermore, the Academy has been shortlisted for this year’s TES Schools Award in the International Category.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious teacher who is looking to further their career and the successful candidate will work with a very dedicated, collaborative and successful Languages team. The ability to teach Spanish up to at least GCSE is essential; the capacity to teach an additional language or ESOL would also be an advantage.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a school within one of the well-regarded Trusts in the eastern region. The school has a great history of success and a bright and exciting future and we are looking for an ambitious and dynamic teacher to steer it through the next stage of its development. Collaboration, educational research and professional development are at the core of how the schools within Thomas Deacon Education Trust work together. With a clear focus on teaching at all levels, the Trust is well placed to provide great opportunities to promote Thomas Deacon Academy as a leading school and you will be given effective support to develop you personally as an outstanding teacher.

The Trust offers:

• Excellent salary package.

• Fantastic training/CPD opportunities in a friendly supportive environment.

• Opportunity for progression across Thomas Deacon Education Trust.

• Use of Academy facilities (including a gym and onsite car parking).

• Teachers’ pension scheme.

• An engaging, creative and welcoming environment to learners who take pride in their school.

• An inclusive and collaborative approach.

• A talented, highly motivated, committed and professional team of colleagues, both within the school and across the trust.

• An actively supportive Local Governing Body and Trust leadership.
