We are seeking to appoint a full-time Chemistry Teacher to teach both GCSE and A-Level Chemistry. You will be able to demonstrate a passion for your subject and the ability to inspire and motivate extremely academic and ambitious students. QTS is preferable but not essential.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful college with outstanding A-Level results and where the teaching consistently “exceeds expectations for the quality of education” in Independent Schools Inspectorate reports. OIC offers teachers and students alike a friendly and welcoming environment where classes are small and expectations are high.
In addition, you will join a vibrant body of teachers each of whom is committed to their students’ success. Students are engaged outside of the classroom as much as possible with trips, competitions and other activities, giving staff the opportunity to add to their own experiences of enrichment programmes.
You will be expected to contribute to the planning, teaching and assessment of GCSE and A-Level Chemistry, alongside helping students prepare for university admission tests and university interviews.
You will be able to demonstrate outstanding subject knowledge alongside the ability to convey passion and enjoyment of the subject to international students. We value a flexible approach to teaching, recognising that despite our students being ambitious, they will nonetheless have different educational needs. A sense of fun, a readiness to respond to students’ individual needs and an open approach to teaching are qualities that we prize, along with a genuine commitment to working in an exceptional educational environment.
We are very happy to receive applications from newly qualified teachers or graduates who hope to enter the profession but don’t have a PGCE. We offer excellent professional development opportunities and pride ourselves on providing a positive and supportive environment.
