Teacher of Computing / Media
Preferably looking to start 20th
April 2020 or from 1st September 2020 (NQTs)
The Chase is seeking to appoint a dynamic and
enthusiastic individual to teach Computing throughout KS3, KS4 and possibly KS5,
subject to aptitude.
We are looking for a creative, well-qualified and
enthusiastic Teacher with experience of and interest in developing teaching and
learning across a range of subjects within the Faculty. We would in particular
welcome applications from anyone with strengths in Computer Science or Media as
there may be opportunities for KS5 teaching in these areas.
The Chase has been instrumental in the development
of the Computing community in the West Midlands, and was recently awarded
official Computing Hub status by the National Centre for Computing Education
(NCCE), in order to provide support for primary and secondary computing
teachers in schools in the area.
As part of the NCCE Computing Hub network across
England it is a focal point for local computing training for schools, and also has
excellent links with industry and universities. This would be an excellent
opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their skills in the Computer Science
area of the curriculum, or who wanted to support the work of The Hub. It would
be excellent preparation for anyone seeking promotion.
You will be joining a very successful and
supportive team. Both KS4 and KS5 examination results are significantly above
national expectations in terms of both progress and attainment. Computer
Science is a very popular subject at GCSE.
The school serves a highly educated and
economically stable community, A Level and GCSE results are amongst the highest
in the region. The expectation is that
each student who attends the school wishes to progress to university or quality
apprenticeship training. Our students are aspirational, resilient and mature.
